Innovation Space

The Walt Disney Company

We designed a series of environments for Disney’s iD8 innovation group in California and Florida, supporting the generation, development, and communication of new ideas. The spaces hosted facilitated workshops, cross-disciplinary collaboration, rapid prototyping, and review, helping teams move from open-ended thinking toward tangible outcomes.

We made color the primary organizational strategy. Rather than treating it as decoration, we applied it at an architectural scale, drenching walls, ceilings, floors, furnishings, and built-in elements in a single hue. Each field of color established a distinct territory for a particular activity, making the environments immediately legible and helping teams shift between focused discussion, collective ideation, informal exchange, and presentation.

Set within otherwise conventional offices, the iD8 spaces acted as beacons, signaling a deliberate move from routine work into experimentation. We coordinated architecture, furniture, graphics, and lighting within each chromatic zone, producing immersive environments that stimulated without tipping into chaos.

Developed across multiple locations and scales, the projects established a consistent design language for iD8 in which color became an operating system for creativity, bringing clarity, energy, and momentum to Disney’s internal innovation process.
