Turtle/Turtle is a sculptural children's stool and decorative interior object originally created as a one-off prototype for "Faces in the Wild", an auction benefitting The World Wildlife Fund. After the birth of his daughter, Cory had a hard time finding objects for children that were well designed, eco-friendly and looked great in their modern home. He did love his daughter's Eames Elephant, originally designed in the 1940's, so Cory decided to create a companion with a similar spirit and functionality. Material usage was reduced to a bare minimum which gives the piece a simple, graphic aesthetic and makes it light, easy for kids to handle and more efficient to transport. Each piece is handmade by a local craftsman in downtown Los Angeles of powder coated steel wire and saddle leather. It is highly durable and will patina nicely over time.
